Host a Fundraiser

Hosting an in-person event is a fun and engaging way to bring people together while supporting a cause you care about. Follow these steps to make your fundraiser a success:

1. Choose Your Fundraising Idea Some ideas include:

   • A bake sale or community potluck

   • A trivia night or board game tournament

   • A garage sale or craft market

   • A fitness challenge or group hike

2. Set a Fundraising Goal Decide how much money you want to raise to motivate you and participants.

3. Pick a Date and Location Choose a time and place that’s convenient for everyone.

4. Spread the Word Use email, social media, posters, and word of mouth to invite friends, family, and even colleagues if you’re comfortable!

5. Gather Supplies and Plan Activities Make a checklist of everything you’ll need for your event and plan activities that will encourage participation and donations, like raffles or auctions.

6. Collect Donations Offer multiple ways for attendees to give, such as cash or online donations (HINT: click here to get our donation URL QR code so you can print it out for your event!).

7. Thank Your Supporters After the event, be sure to thank everyone who attended and contributed!

Did you know that Facebook makes it super simple to connect with your network and raise money without ever leaving your home? Here’s how to set up a fundraiser via your Facebook:

1. Visit the Facebook Fundraisers Page Go to Facebook’s Fundraisers page.

2. Click “Raise Money” Select “Raise Money for a Nonprofit” and search for ‘elements society for Environmental Education and Leadership (ELEMENTS)’ in the list of eligible organizations.

3. Set Your Fundraising Goal Enter the amount you hope to raise and choose an end date for your fundraiser.

4. Add a Personal Touch Write a compelling story about why you’re passionate about supporting us and share how donations will make a tangible impact. HINT: adding personal photos or videos can make your fundraiser more engaging!

5. Share Your Fundraiser Invite friends and family to donate by sharing your fundraiser on your timeline, in groups, and via Messenger. Post regular updates to keep your supporters engaged and informed.

6. Thank Your Donors Use the “Thank You” feature to send personalized messages of gratitude to everyone who contributes. This simple gesture can encourage others to give as well.
