ECOCOOKS EVENT: Seed to Table x EcoCooks: Preserving the Harvest to Reduce Food Waste

Join Daniel Gregorash of EcoCooks and Michelle Edworthy of the Calgary Horticultural Society for a discussion about how to preserve our harvests and avoid food waste, all while getting to try a variety of unique preserved foods. 

 This interactive workshop will cover: 

  • Why food goes bad & simple ways to decrease food waste at home

  • History of food preservation 

  • Storing harvest vegetables  

  • Recipe sharing

  • Tasting preserved foods 

 Participants are encouraged to bring a favourite recipe to share. Food samples will be provided.
