Each module consists of four workshops.
Workshop are designed to be approximately 60-75 minutes long, but are easily adapted to different class times.
These four workshops are typically taken over the space of 1 to 4 weeks.
The first three workshops tackle the environmental component with fun, hands-on activities designed for a classroom space.
The fourth and final workshop is a cooking class where students learn how to apply their new knowledge while preparing food.
All workshops can be done in a traditional classroom space or in a specialized foods room.

The program is connected most strongly to:
Elementary: Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, Applied Design, Skills, health, and Technologies
Secondary: Science, Social Studies, Food Studies (ADST / CTS / CTF), and Career & Life Skills
Since we will be cooking and preparing food with students, the final workshop is best run in a classroom with access to food preparation facilities (like a Food Studies room set-up), however; we can adapt the workshop for classrooms without a kitchen.

We believe that all youth should have the opportunity to take part in inspiring environmental education programs. As such, EcoCooks is dedicated to providing economically accessible programs that are appropriate for youth with diverse physical and neuro-emotional learning needs as well as English language learners.
