EcoCooks Programming
EcoCooks School is Elements Society’s flagship environmental and food literacy program.
Delivered directly in classrooms across BC and Alberta to Grades 4-12 in English, and Grades 4-7 in French, EcoCooks School is a curriculum-connected, multi-session workshop series that explores the connection between everyday food choices and their subsequent environmental impact.
Through guided discussions, science-based activities and interactive cooking demonstrations, students engage with complex environmental topics in digestible, actionable ways; helping shape a new generation of environmental stewards.
EcoCooks Community
EcoCooks Community brings Elements Society’s environmental and food literacy programming into community spaces.
Designed for learners of all ages, EcoCooks Community adapts our signature hands-on learning style for a broader audience, with flexible programming that meets participants of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences where they are.
Participants explore key environmental topics such as land and water use, agriculture and the carbon cycles, and food waste reduction and general sustainability principles that contribute to more planet-conscious decision making.
EcoCooks School Online
EcoCooks School Online is the digital adaptation of Elements Society’s flagship environmental and food literacy program.
Built to reduce barriers to environmental education, including geographic barriers that may prevent schools from participating in-person, EcoCooks School Online delivers our curriculum-connected programming through a ready-to-use virtual format.
Teachers can facilitate the same engaging activities and learning experiences as in the in-person program, giving students more equitable access to high-quality, meaningful environmental education.
Bringing Environmental Education
to Youth and Communities
EcoCooks Programming is offered at no cost to participating schools and community members.
This ensures that meaningful, hands-on environmental education remains accessible to learners regardless of their financial circumstances.
As a registered charitable organization, Elements Society relies on support from aligned funders, donors and community partners to help sustain this important work and offset the costs of program delivery.
